Global CBT Training Guidelines

Training Two new videos

Global CBT Training Guidelines

Two videos about the guidelines are now available to watch on our website.

The WCCBT’s Global CBT Training Guidelines set out minimum standards for training professionals to deliver CBT to adults. They provide a shared reference for the knowledge and competencies expected of CBT practitioners internationally.

Two new videos introduce these guidelines from the perspectives of trainees and trainers. Watch them below for an overview of what CBT training should cover and how learning can be assessed.

Part One

Guidelines for Trainees

The first video outlines the knowledge and competencies expected of people training in CBT. It covers core theory and assessment, working collaboratively with clients, and the cognitive, behavioural and contextual strategies trainees should learn to use.

Part Two

Guidelines for Trainers

The second video focuses on those who teach and supervise CBT. It looks at teaching methods, practical learning and case supervision, along with ways to assess whether trainees can apply CBT principles and interventions competently.
