EABCT Glasgow 2025 Conference

The 2025 EABCT Annual Congress took place in September hosted by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies and was the largest CBT Congress that has taken place both for EABCT and BABCP  if we discount the World Congresses held in Barcelona 2007 and Berlin in 2019.  The Congress Scientific Committee succeeded in putting together a first-class programme following a record number of submissions and during the 3 day of the congress 20 keynotes, 109 symposia, 25 skills classes, 10 panel and roundtables, 16 in-congress workshops were held and 426 posters displayed.

With 2450 people registering to join from 62 nations it felt more like a World Congress and provided a unique experience to participate in a congress with people from not just the rest of Europe but from every corner of the world.

Over 2000 delegates attended in person with another 400 delegates joined the congress online and over 600 delegates also signed up for one of the 12 pre-congress workshops. As a bonus delegates who registered also received the recordings from the four largest lecture theatres and can continue to benefit from listening to much of the congress the congress for many months to come.

The congress had the pleasure of hosting the annual face to face meeting of the WCCBT Board as well as facilitating a symposium on Training and Credentialing standards in CBT chaired by Keith Dobson,  Past President of the WCCBT with presentations from members of the  Training and Accreditation Committee (TAC).

EABCT Congresses are well known for combining a first class scientific program with an opportunity to party. With an opening reception, followed by  an unforgettable night of music and dancing led by Kevin Noon, Co-convener of the Congress and then finishing with a gala dinner and a Scottish ceilidh at the beautiful Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum the tradition was kept alive.
