Thomas KalpakoglouGreece

    Dr Kalpakoglou was born in Greece. He studied Psychology and Computer Science at the University of Keele (UK), and carried out his PhD research on group CBT for anxiety disorders at the School of Medicine, University of Manchester (UK). He is an accredited CBT and ST therapist and supervisor. As a clinician, Dr. Kalpakoglou has worked in public health settings (outpatient and community mental health) and privately in the UK and Greece, providing CBT and ST for adults and couples. Academically, he has taught at the University of Athens as part-time Lecturer and Senior Lecturer. He is a teacher, supervisor and Head of Training at the Association for CBT Studies in Athens. He is appreciated for his teaching skills, engaging presentation style and specialist CBT supervision, with a long teaching experience, both in Greece and abroad. He has written and contributed to many scientific publications. Dr. Kalpakoglou has represented the Greek Association for Behavioural Modification (GBA) at the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT) and chaired GBA’s accreditation committee. He has served EABCT as a member of the working group on training standards and Board member at the posts of Training Coordinator, Chair of the Accreditation Committee, Secretary and Treasurer. He is currently serving as President of EABCT, Board member of the Institute of Behaviour Research and Therapy and Board member of the Greek Society for Schema Therapy.
